The government has presented a draft amendment to the Oder River Revitalization Law.
Amendments to the law aim to improve the river’s self-purification capacity through restoration and pollution reduction. The proposal calls for removing some of the previously planned construction projects in the Oder river basin and introducing new corrective measures.
The law is to include a catalog of renaturalization measures, including technical and non-technical measures to increase the Oder river’s self-purification capacity, stabilize runoff and improve the ecological state of the waters. Four groups of measures are planned: maintenance, renaturalization, water conservation and stabilization works.
